Wizardry Gaiden (english Translation) Game

Wizardry Gaiden on Game Boy is one of those old-school dungeon crawlers that somehow makes grinding through dark corridors feel weirdly satisfying. You start by rolling up a party—I always go heavy on mages because, well, fireballs—and then it’s straight into the deep end: flickering torches, random encounters with things that definitely want to eat you, and that classic "oh god where’s the stairs" panic when your health gets low.
The translation patch makes it playable, but don’t expect Shakespeare—it’s got that charmingly janky "we typed this in all caps" vibe of early RPGs. The pixel art’s simple but has personality, especially when some goblin-looking thing lunges at you from the shadows. Pro tip: save often. Like, obsessively. Those dungeon layouts don’t mess around.
It’s not for everyone, but if you miss the days when RPGs kicked your teeth in and made you like it, this one’s a solid time capsule. Just keep a walkthrough handy for the cryptic bits.
