Okay, so Willow on NES is one of those old-school RPGs that actually follows the movie pretty closely—which is rare for licensed games. You play as Willow, this tiny but determined guy who gets stuck with a magic baby and has to go on a whole quest to take down Bavmorda, the evil sorceress. The combat’s simple but satisfying—you swing swords, block with shields, and eventually learn spells that actually feel useful (unlike some RPGs where magic just kinda exists).
What’s cool is how the game mixes exploration with little puzzles, like figuring out which NPCs actually matter and which are just there to waste your time. The overworld’s got that classic NES charm, with towns that feel alive and dungeons that’ll make you groan (in a good way). Just don’t expect deep character customization—you’re Willow, and you’re stuck with his weird little run animation forever.
It’s not the hardest RPG out there, but it’s got enough challenge to keep you paying attention. If you’re into retro fantasy adventures, this one’s a solid pick.
