Man, Who Framed Roger Rabbit on Game Boy is such a weird little time capsule. You start off as Eddie Valiant, this grumpy detective who somehow gets roped into helping Roger Rabbit—who, by the way, looks hilariously janky in 8-bit. The first thing you do? Run around Toontown bumping into cartoon characters who either help you or just make your life harder (looking at you, weasels).
It’s part platformer, part detective game, which means you’re jumping over barrels one minute and piecing together clues the next. The puzzles aren’t exactly brain-busters, but they’ve got that old-school charm where you’re poking at everything just to see what happens. And yeah, the controls take some getting used to—Eddie moves like he’s had one too many, but that kinda fits his character, right?
If you grew up with the movie or just love weird retro licensed games, this one’s a trip. Just don’t expect it to hold your hand—half the fun is figuring out how the heck Toontown even works.
