About Who Framed Roger Rabbit (europe)
I picked up Who Framed Roger Rabbit for the Game Boy back in 1991. It was developed by Rare, a name I recognized from other games, and it felt like a typical licensed title for the handheld at the time. You got a movie-based game and hoped it would be a decent way to pass the time.
You control Eddie Valiant, a detective, moving screen by screen through Toontown. Your main goal is to clear Roger Rabbit's name by finding evidence and talking to characters. The gameplay shifts between exploration, where you search for items and clues, and action sequences where you throw pies at weasels. There are also driving sections viewed from above, where you navigate the streets and avoid obstacles. The game moves at a steady pace, but some puzzles can be tricky to figure out. Playing it feels like working through a compact, interactive cartoon mystery.
