Man, Wayne Gretzky’s 3D Hockey ‘98 is pure arcade chaos on ice. The second you drop into a game, it’s all body checks, slap shots, and players ragdolling into the boards like they’ve got zero regard for physics. The controls are simple—pass, shoot, check—but the speed is ridiculous in the best way. You’ll be down 3-0, then suddenly pull off some wild one-timer to turn the game around.
Graphically, it’s peak late-90s N64: chunky player models, exaggerated animations, and this weirdly satisfying "thunk" when you slam someone into the glass. The AI isn’t exactly strategic geniuses, but who cares when you can just bulldoze your way to the net? Play it with a friend, crank the difficulty up, and prepare for some very undignified hockey. It’s the kind of game where you’ll argue about cheap goals for hours.
