Wally Bear and the NO! Gang is one of those weirdly earnest NES games that tried to be educational while still being a platformer. You play as Wally, a bear whose parents send him on a mission to rally his "NO! Gang" (basically just his friends who say no to drugs) and make it to his uncle's house for a party. The whole thing feels like an after-school special with jump mechanics.

It's got all the usual side-scrolling stuff—jumping over pits, dodging enemies—except the enemies are... peer pressure and drugs? The graphics are pretty basic, even for NES standards, and the controls can be a little stiff. But there's something oddly charming about how seriously it takes its anti-drug message while still letting you punch floating syringes out of the air.

If you're into obscure retro games with bizarre premises, this one's a trip—just not the kind Wally would approve of.
