Wall Street Kid is one of those weirdly specific NES games that somehow makes stock trading feel like an adventure. You start with half a mil (fake money, obviously) and have to turn it into a ridiculous fortune to impress some rich relative—because apparently that’s how inheritances work in the 8-bit world.
Most of the game happens in this tiny office where you’re staring at stock tickers, buying low, selling high, and occasionally dealing with random events like your girlfriend demanding diamonds (priorities, right?). The market fluctuates in real-time, so you’re constantly second-guessing whether to hold or cash out. I lost a fortune the first time because I panicked and sold everything too early.
It’s janky, the graphics are basic even for NES standards, and yet… there’s something weirdly satisfying about watching your fake millions grow. Just don’t expect Wolf of Wall Street—this is more like Wolf of Your Childhood Bedroom Floor. If you ever wanted to day-trade without consequences, this is your weird little time capsule.
