About Wwf Wrestlemania Steel Cage
WWF WrestleMania: Steel Cage Challenge came out for the NES in 1990, developed by Rare and published by LJN. It was one of several wrestling games on the system, arriving when pixelated brawlers were a common sight on the console.
You pick a single wrestler from the roster, like Hulk Hogan or Randy Savage, and fight through a series of one-on-one matches. Your goal is to win enough matches to challenge for the championship. The main mechanic is the steel cage match itself; you can't win by pinfall, only by climbing over the cage wall and escaping to the floor. You punch, kick, and grapple, building up a special meter that lets you perform a powerful signature move. The game moves quickly, but the difficulty is steep, with the computer opponents recovering fast and countering often. It feels like a frantic scramble where a single mistake can cost you the match.
