About Wwf Wrestlemania Challenge (japan)
WWF WrestleMania Challenge came out for the Nintendo Entertainment System in 1991, published by LJN and developed by Rare. It was one of several wrestling titles on the NES that tried to capture the spectacle of the sport during that era.
You control a WWF wrestler, moving from screen to screen in a side view arena to fight opponents one on one. The main goal is to win matches and climb the ranks. Signature mechanics include grappling to initiate moves, building a special meter for powerful slams or slaps, and navigating the ring ropes to gain momentum. The pacing is deliberate, with matches often feeling slow and methodical, and the difficulty can spike sharply against certain opponents. It feels like a rough approximation of wrestling, where timing your basic moves correctly is the entire challenge.
