WWF WrestleMania Challenge on NES is one of those early wrestling games that somehow feels both janky and weirdly charming. You’ve got all the big names—Hulk Hogan, Ultimate Warrior, Andre the Giant—each with their own handful of signature moves (and let’s be real, spamming Hogan’s leg drop never gets old). The controls are clunky by today’s standards, but back then, diving out of the ring or slamming someone with a piledriver felt like a big deal.
What’s fun is the "create yourself" option—you pick a generic dude and fight your way up from nothing, which was pretty novel for 1990. Tag team and Survivor Series modes add some variety, though the AI isn’t exactly a genius. It’s the kind of game where you’ll yell at the screen when the ref doesn’t see you cheating, and that’s half the appeal. Definitely a nostalgia trip if you grew up with it.
