WWF Superstars 2 came out for the Game Boy in 1992, published by LJN Ltd. It was part of that wave of early handheld wrestling games, a time when you could carry a simplified version of arcade brawlers in your pocket. The cartridge offered a direct follow up to its predecessor, giving players more of the pixelated action they expected from the platform.
You control one of several WWF wrestlers, moving from screen to screen in a side scrolling environment. Your main goal is to defeat a series of opponents across different stages to become the champion. Signature mechanics include grappling and punching in one on one fights, along with performing special moves unique to each character when your meter is full. The pacing is fairly quick, though the difficulty can spike against certain rivals who block and counter frequently.
