About Wwf Raw (usa, Europe)
WWF Raw came out for the Game Boy in 1994, published by Acclaim Entertainment. This was during a time when portable wrestling games were still pretty basic, often just stripped down versions of their console counterparts. It followed WWF Royal Rumble, rounding out a series of WWF titles on the 16-bit systems.
You control one of several WWF wrestlers, moving from screen to screen in a side view arena. The main goal is to beat your opponent by pinning them after draining their health. Signature mechanics include grappling to initiate moves and a momentum based system where repeated attacks build up a special meter; filling it lets you perform a wrestler's signature finishing move. The pacing is fast, with matches that can feel repetitive but also surprisingly difficult due to the limited move sets and aggressive computer opponents.
