Man, WWF No Mercy on N64 is still one of the best wrestling games ever made. You start off picking from a stacked roster—Stone Cold, The Rock, Triple H—all the late '90s legends. The controls feel surprisingly smooth for an N64 game, and within minutes you're pulling off piledrivers and diving off the turnbuckle like it's WrestleMania.
What really hooked me was the story mode. It's not just random matches—you actually get rivalries, backstage brawls, and even some cheesy but fun cutscenes. And if you get tired of playing as the usual suspects, you can go deep into character creation and make some truly ridiculous custom wrestlers (I may have spent hours giving mine neon green tights and a lucha mask).
Even the weapons feel weighty—swinging a steel chair connects with a satisfying *thwack* that newer wrestling games still struggle to match. It's aged way better than it had any right to.
