WWF King of the Ring on Game Boy is exactly what you'd hope for—a chunky little wrestling game that somehow squeezes all the chaos of the ring into that tiny screen. You pick your wrestler (I always went for the Undertaker, obviously), and then it's straight into the tournament with those stiff but satisfying grapple moves.
The sprites are surprisingly detailed for a Game Boy title—you can actually tell who’s who, which wasn’t always a given back then. And yeah, the controls take a second to click, but once you figure out the timing for reversals, you’ll be slamming opponents like it’s 1993 all over again. The crowd noise is just these crunchy little beeps, but somehow it still gets you hyped.
It’s not deep by today’s standards, but there’s something weirdly addictive about the way it plays—like you can’t stop until you’ve pinned every wrestler in the roster at least once. Perfect for quick matches between bus rides or when you just need to relive that classic WWF vibe.
