WCW Main Event on Game Boy is exactly what you'd hope for—a chunky, pixelated love letter to '90s wrestling. The sprites are blocky but full of personality, and the moves actually feel weighty when you land them. I spent way too long just figuring out how to properly Irish whip someone into the turnbuckle.
Matches are quick but surprisingly tactical—button mashing won’t save you here. The roster’s stacked with WCW legends, though good luck telling some of them apart with those tiny sprites. Still, there’s something weirdly satisfying about hearing that tinny Game Boy crowd noise after a piledriver.
It’s janky in that classic handheld wrestling game way, but if you’ve got nostalgia for elbow drops on portable screens, this one’s a solid pick.
