Vegas Stakes on Game Boy is basically a tiny casino in your pocket—minus the free drinks. You start with a stack of cash (not real, sadly) and can hit the blackjack tables, try your hand at poker, or just mindlessly pull the slot lever while pretending you’re in some smoky Vegas joint. The pixelated dealers have this weirdly serious look, like they’re judging your terrible bets.
It’s surprisingly deep for a Game Boy game—you can actually build up your bankroll, upgrade to higher-stakes tables, and even get roped into weird little side stories with NPCs who clearly spend too much time at the craps table. The poker AI isn’t half bad, though I swear it cheats when you’re on a winning streak. Slots are pure button-mashing luck, but hey, sometimes that’s all you want.
Perfect for killing time when you’re stuck somewhere boring, just don’t blame me when you lose your virtual rent money on a bad bluff.
