About Undercover Cops
Undercover Cops came out for the Game Boy in 1990, published by Irem. It was part of that wave of arcade-style brawlers that tried to fit the quarter-munching experience into a portable format, a time when developers were still figuring out how to translate intense action onto that small, green-tinted screen.
You control one of three brawny officers, each with slightly different moves, and your job is to punch and kick your way through waves of thugs to rescue the mayor's daughter. The game scrolls from left to right, and you use basic attacks, jump kicks, and a special spinning move that drains your health to clear the screen. Enemies swarm you constantly, and the difficulty ramps up quickly, demanding precise timing to avoid getting cornered and overwhelmed. It feels like a relentless, knuckle-bruising scramble from start to finish.
