Ultraman on GB is one of those classic Game Boy brawlers that feels like it was made for quick bursts of monster-smashing fun. You start off with Ultraman’s basic punches and kicks, but the real fun comes when you figure out his special moves—timing that Spacium Beam just right to take down a charging kaiju never gets old.

The sprites are chunky in that nostalgic Game Boy way, and the monsters actually look like they stepped right out of the old TV show. Some of them are total pushovers, but others? Yeah, good luck with that. The first time I ran into Baltan, I got wrecked before I even realized what was happening.

It’s not super deep, but that’s kind of the charm—pick it up, punch a few monsters, and put it down. Perfect for short sessions when you just want to feel like a giant hero for five minutes. If you ever watched Ultraman as a kid, this one’s a fun little throwback.
