Ultraman Ball Game

Ultraman Ball on Game Boy is one of those weird little gems that shouldn’t work but totally does. You’re basically bouncing a ball at monsters as Ultraman—sounds simple, but the timing gets brutal fast. The first few levels trick you into thinking it’s easy, then suddenly you’re juggling three enemies at once while dodging laser beams.
The retro pixel art nails that old-school Ultraman vibe, and the controls are surprisingly tight for a Game Boy game. I kept messing up the angle of my bounces at first, but once it clicks, you start pulling off ridiculous ricochets to take out multiple baddies in one shot. There’s something weirdly satisfying about nailing a perfect rebound off the edge of the screen.
It’s short, but the later stages get seriously intense—like, "throw your Game Boy across the room" intense. Worth a play if you dig obscure retro action with a side of kaiju-smashing chaos.
