About Ultra Golf
Ultra Golf came out for the original Game Boy, a product of its time when developers were figuring out what worked on that small green screen. I don't recall a specific developer or publisher, but it fit right in with the other experimental sports titles from that era.
You control a golfer, moving screen by screen across a multi-hole course. Your main goal is to get the ball into the cup on each hole, navigating obstacles and tricky terrain. The game uses a power meter for your shots; you have to time your button presses to set the strength and angle. Wind conditions affect the ball's flight, adding another layer to your calculations. The pacing is deliberate, and the difficulty comes from the precision required, especially on later holes with more hazards. It feels like a quiet, thoughtful puzzle where every shot matters.
