About Ultima - Seija Heno Michi (japan)
Ultima: Seija heno Michi came out in 1987 for the Nintendo Entertainment System, published by Pony Canyon Inc. It was part of that wave of early console RPGs that tried to bring a complex computer role playing experience to a living room audience. The game stands as a distinct, Japan only entry in the long running Ultima series, offering a particular take on the franchise's familiar fantasy world.
You control a single hero from a top down perspective, exploring the land screen by screen. Your main goal is to gather the eight Runes of Virtue, which involves traveling across the overworld and delving into multi level dungeons. Combat is a real time affair; you swing your sword or use a bow as monsters approach, and you must manage your health and magic points carefully. The game has a deliberate pace, partly due to the need to grind for experience and gold to survive tougher areas, and the dungeons are maze like and easy to get lost in. Playing it feels like a methodical, sometimes arduous, trek through a world that doesn't hold your hand.
