You control a boy named Hebe who wakes up with no memory in a strange, colorful land. Your goal is to find your three missing friends, each with a unique ability, to help you explore further. The game is built on screen by screen exploration, where you jump across platforms and swim through underwater sections. You use a boomerang to fight off the odd creatures you meet, and you delve into dungeons to find special items that grant new powers, like breathing underwater. The pacing is methodical, as you often need to backtrack with a new character's ability to access a previously unreachable area, and the difficulty comes from learning the layout and enemy patterns. Playing it feels like slowly piecing together a large, interconnected map where every new ability opens up a fresh part of the world to discover.
