Uchuu Senkan Yamato Game

Uchuu Senkan Yamato on Game Boy is one of those old-school space shooters that feels like you're actually commanding a massive battleship—not just some tiny fighter. The Yamato moves slow and heavy, so you really have to plan your shots and watch your positioning. Mess up, and you'll eat a barrage of enemy fire before you can turn around.
The first few levels ease you in, but don't get too comfortable. By the time you hit the asteroid fields, you're dodging rocks while fending off waves of alien fighters. The music’s got that classic 8-bit urgency, and the pixel art somehow makes space feel huge, even on the tiny Game Boy screen.
If you grew up with the anime, the nostalgia hits hard. If not, it’s still a solid space shooter with a surprising amount of strategy—just don’t expect modern controls. This thing plays like 1990, for better or worse.
