About U.s. Championship V'ball (japan)
U.S. Championship V'Ball came out for the Nintendo Entertainment System in 1989, published by Technos Japan Corp. It was part of that wave of straightforward sports games on the NES that tried to capture the feel of an arcade experience at home, without a lot of the complexity you see today.
You control a team of two volleyball players on a side scrolling court. The main goal is to win each match by outscoring the opposing team, which involves passing, setting, and spiking the ball over the net. Key mechanics include a power meter for executing stronger spikes and the ability to dive for saves, which sends your player sliding across the floor. The game moves at a fast pace, and the computer opponents can be surprisingly aggressive, making it challenging to return powerful spikes. It feels responsive and frantic, especially when you're scrambling to keep a rally alive.
