Twin (japan) Game

Pop'n Twinbee on Game Boy is a cute but surprisingly tough little shooter—you control a tiny ship dodging waves of enemies while grabbing floating bells for power-ups. The colors pop even on the monochrome screen, and the chiptune soundtrack is way catchier than it has any right to be.
It's got that classic Twinbee quirk where you shoot bells to change their color before collecting them—red for speed, blue for lasers, etc. Mess up the timing and you might end up with a useless green bell instead. The Game Boy version is a stripped-down port of the SNES original, but it still nails that satisfying loop of weaving through bullets while frantically juggling power-ups. Just don't expect it to go easy on you.
If you've played other Twinbee games, you'll recognize the goofy enemy designs and the way later levels suddenly crank up the chaos. It's a solid pocket-sized version of the formula.
