About Twin Cobra
Twin Cobra came out on the Nintendo Entertainment System in 1987, a home version of Toaplan's arcade game. It was a time when straightforward shooters were common on the platform, and this one fit right in.
You pilot a helicopter through horizontally scrolling levels, shooting down enemy aircraft, tanks, and turrets. The main goal is to survive the relentless enemy waves and defeat the large boss waiting at the end of each stage. Your helicopter can collect power-up icons to switch between different weapon types, like a spread shot or laser, and you can also grab floating options that fly alongside you, effectively doubling your firepower. The pacing is fast and the difficulty is steep, demanding quick reflexes and smart power-up management. It feels tense and demanding, a constant test of your ability to navigate a dense curtain of enemy fire.
