Man, Turok: Rage Wars was the go-to shooter for my N64 crew back in the day. It’s basically a stripped-down, no-nonsense arena brawler where you pick a beefy dinosaur hunter and blast friends in split-screen chaos. The weapons are ridiculous—think cerebral bore drills that burrow into skulls and a bow that shoots explosive arrows. First time I played, I spent way too long just testing out the weird guns instead of actually fighting.
It’s got that classic late-90s jank—controls take some getting used to, and the framerate chugs when things get wild—but that’s part of the charm. The single-player mode’s just okay, but where it really shines is 4-player matches. Nothing like watching your buddy scream when you sneak up with the flamethrower. If you’ve got a crew and nostalgia for N64 shooters, this one’s a blast.
