Man, Turok on the N64 was something else. You start off in this dense jungle with a bow in hand, and within minutes, you’re dodging raptors and blasting humanoid lizard things with a shotgun. The weapons feel ridiculously satisfying—especially the cerebral bore, which is as gross as it sounds. The levels are huge for an N64 game, full of hidden areas and weird portals to other dimensions.
It’s janky by today’s standards (good luck with the foggy draw distance), but back then, it felt like stepping into a legit dinosaur-infested nightmare. And that soundtrack? Pure tribal drums and eerie synths that still slap. Just don’t expect a walk in the park—some of those platforming sections are brutal.
If you’ve got nostalgia for late-’90s shooters or just want to see where "dino hunter" games peaked, this one’s a trip.
