This one's a deep cut for Go fans—Tsume Go Series 1 on the Game Boy is all about tsumego, those brutal little life-and-death puzzles that make you sweat over every stone. Fujisawa Hideyuki’s problems here aren’t messing around; some of these feel like they’re designed to break your brain before you even see the solution.
You’ll start with simpler shapes, but don’t get comfortable—the difficulty spikes fast, and the tiny Game Boy screen somehow makes every move feel heavier. No frills, no fancy graphics, just you and a grid where one wrong placement means instant failure. It’s the kind of game you pick up for five minutes and suddenly realize an hour’s gone by while you’re still staring at the same damn corner.
If you’re into Go, this is like finding an old textbook full of handwritten notes from a master. Just don’t expect hand-holding.
