Trax on the Game Boy is one of those weird little puzzle games that somehow sticks with you. You control this tiny tank, dropping tracks behind you like breadcrumbs while enemy tanks try to box you in. At first it feels simple—just lay down a loop and trap them—but then the AI starts pulling sneaky moves, cutting off your escape routes.
The pixel art has that classic Game Boy charm, all chunky greens and blacks, and the controls are satisfyingly crisp. I remember getting stuck on some later levels where you’ve got to think three moves ahead, weaving through tight spaces without cornering yourself. It’s the kind of game that makes you mutter "one more try" at 2 AM.
If you dig retro puzzle games with a side of strategy, Trax is a solid pick. Just don’t blame me when you start seeing tank tracks in your dreams.
