About Track N Field 2
Track & Field II came out for the Nintendo Entertainment System in 1988, developed and published by Konami. It was part of that wave of sports games on the NES that tried to capture the feel of the Olympics, building directly on the events from the first game.
You control an athlete competing in a series of Olympic events. The main goal is to win gold medals across different disciplines by achieving the highest score or best time. Key mechanics include the rapid button mashing for running events to build speed, precise timing for the long jump and javelin throw, and a unique rhythm-based input for the archery and taekwondo sections. The game moves quickly from one event to the next, and the difficulty can be punishing, demanding consistent precision. It feels like a constant test of your reflexes and timing against the clock.
