Track Meet Game

Track Meet on the Game Boy is one of those deceptively simple games that makes you sweat just holding the tiny buttons. You start with a basic sprint—just mash A as fast as humanly possible—but then it throws hurdles at you, and suddenly timing matters more than speed. Mess up a jump, and your little pixel runner eats dirt in the most dramatic 8-bit faceplant.
What’s cool is how it nails that arcade track-and-field feel without needing a giant cabinet. Long jump’s all about nailing the takeoff, and the 1500m? Pure torture if you don’t pace yourself. The controls are straightforward, but good luck not cramping your thumb after a few races. It’s got that "one more try" pull, especially when you’re half a second off your best time.
Still holds up if you’re into retro sports games—just don’t blame me when you start seeing sprint timings in your dreams.
