Toy Story 2 - Captain Buzz Lightyear Auf Rettungsmission! (g) Game
📅 1999 ✍️ Traveller's Tales

Okay, so Toy Story 2: Buzz Lightyear to the Rescue on N64 is basically a love letter to the movie, but with way more jumping on crates and collecting pizza tokens than you’d expect. You play as Buzz (obviously), running around Andy’s room, the airport, and even Al’s Toy Barn—all those places feel huge when you’re toy-sized. The controls are a little stiff by today’s standards, but once you get used to it, bouncing on springs and dodging toy dinosaurs is weirdly satisfying.
There’s this one level where you’re sneaking past traffic cones in the backyard, and the music kicks in just right—pure nostalgia. Some of the platforming can be janky (looking at you, Al’s Toy Barn rafters), but the charm totally makes up for it. Also, collecting those little astronaut tokens unlocks bonus levels, which is a nice touch if you’re into 100% completion.
It’s not the deepest game ever, but if you grew up with Toy Story, it’s like stepping right back into 1999.
