About Toxic Crusaders
Toxic Crusaders came out on the Nintendo Entertainment System in 1992, published by Bandai. It was part of that wave of games based on cartoons and toys, trying to capture the look and feel of the source material on the 8-bit hardware.
You control Toxie, a mutated superhero, through side-scrolling levels where you bash mutants and other enemies with your mop. The main goal is to stop the villainous Dr. Killemoff, clearing each stage of his minions. Your primary attack is swinging the mop, but you can also find power-ups like a super spin attack or a projectile weapon to help you out. The game moves at a brisk pace, and the difficulty can be unforgiving with enemy placement and platforming challenges. It feels like a straightforward brawler that requires quick reflexes to survive.
