Okay, so Toxic Crusaders on Game Boy is exactly as weird and janky as you’d hope—in a good way. You play as Toxie, this radioactive lump of muscle with a mop, smacking mutants and pollution monsters across Tromaville. The controls are a little stiff (classic Game Boy), but swinging that mop never gets old.
First level throws you right into a sewer full of goo and guys in hazmat suits. The sprites are tiny but full of personality—Toxie’s got this permanent grin like he’s having the time of his life cleaning up crime. And yeah, there’s slime. So much slime. You’ll bounce off it, slip on it, and occasionally weaponize it.
It’s not the deepest game, but the humor’s straight from the cartoon—dumb, gross, and weirdly charming. If you’re into ‘90s licensed games with attitude, this one’s a blast. Just don’t expect it to go easy on you.
