Top Gun - Dual Fighters is the follow-up to the original NES Top Gun, and honestly? It’s a little weird. You get two planes now—hence the "Dual" part—but the controls still feel like wrestling with a greased-up joystick. Landing on the carrier? Still a nightmare. The dogfights are a bit smoother, though, and the enemy waves come at you fast. If you played the first one, you’ll recognize the same janky charm, just with an extra layer of 8-bit chaos.
It’s one of those games where you either love the challenge or throw your controller after the third failed landing attempt. I’m somewhere in between.
