Top Gear Overdrive on the N64 is one of those late-era racers that doesn’t get enough love. The weather effects are surprisingly decent for the hardware, too—racing in the rain actually makes the handling slippery, which is a nice touch.

You start off with a basic ride, but tweaking your car’s stats actually matters here. I remember dumping all my credits into acceleration early on, only to realize I was getting smoked on the long straights. Lesson learned. And yeah, the AI can be brutal—they don’t just rubberband, they straight-up fight for position. If you miss a turn, good luck catching up.
