To The Earth is one of those NES games that looks simple until you actually try it. You're piloting this little ship through waves of enemy fighters, trying to drop a bomb to Earth while dodging an absurd amount of bullets. The controls feel a bit stiff at first—your ship moves in this weird grid pattern instead of smooth diagonals—but once you get the hang of it, weaving through enemy fire becomes weirdly satisfying.
The real challenge? You can't just spam shots. Your laser overheats if you hold the button too long, so you have to time your bursts. And those enemy formations? They get brutal fast. By level 3, you're basically threading the needle between a dozen ships while praying your bomb lands in the right spot.
If you're into punishing retro shooters, this one's a solid pick. Just don't be surprised if you restart the first level a few times before it clicks.
