Thunderbirds on GB is one of those weird little Game Boy gems that somehow makes rescuing people feel like a puzzle game. You control the Tracy brothers in these bite-sized missions where you're scrambling to reach disaster zones before time runs out. The controls take a minute to get used to—those old-school tank controls feel stiff at first, but once you get the hang of it, threading Virgil through tight spaces becomes weirdly satisfying.
What surprised me was how much personality they squeezed into those tiny sprites. Jeff Tracy actually looks grumpy when you mess up, and Lady Penelope’s pink car is just a few pixels but somehow still ridiculous. The missions get tough fast—by level 3, you’re juggling fuel limits, collapsing bridges, and that one obnoxious villain who keeps setting traps. It’s janky in that classic Game Boy way, but if you grew up with Thunderbirds (or just love retro handheld quirks), it’s a fun little time capsule. Just don’t expect it to hold your hand.
