I picked up The Simpsons: Itchy & Scratchy in Miniature Golf Madness for my Game Boy back in 1994. It was published by Acclaim Entertainment, one of those many licensed titles that filled the shelves back then. The game takes the cartoon's violent cat and mouse duo and puts them into a series of themed miniature golf courses, which was a pretty clever premise for a portable game.

You control Itchy, navigating him through each hole from an isometric perspective. Your main goal is to get your golf ball into the cup, but the real challenge comes from the hazards and enemies. Scratchy patrols the courses, and if he touches you, you lose a life; you can stun him temporarily by hitting him with your golf ball. Each course is a single screen puzzle, requiring you to figure out the correct angles and use bumpers, moving platforms, and teleporters to succeed. The game moves at a brisk pace, and some of the later holes get quite tricky with their timing-based obstacles. It feels like a strange but functional mix of puzzle solving and arcade action.
