Man, The Punisher on NES is one of those old-school shooters that doesn’t hold back. You start off in grimy New York streets, blasting drug dealers with an M60 like it’s going out of style—grenades, rockets, the whole arsenal. The controls are stiff by today’s standards, but there’s something satisfying about mowing down waves of goons while Frank Castle grunts like he’s mad at the world (which, fair).
Then it gets weird—suddenly you’re in South America fighting voodoo cultists? Yeah, the tone shifts fast, but it’s all part of the charm. Spider-Man even shows up at one point, which feels random until you realize this was back when Marvel just threw characters into anything. The difficulty’s brutal, but if you’ve got patience for NES-era jank, it’s a fun time. Just don’t expect deep storytelling—this is pure 80s action cheese.
