Ever tried The Goonies II on NES? It's this weird mix of side-scrolling action and first-person dungeon crawling—kinda janky, but in that charming '80s way. You start off rescuing your buddies from the Fratellis (again), swinging a yo-yo as a weapon because why not? The controls take a second to get used to—Z for jump, X for attack—but once you're in, it's pure nostalgia.
Half the time you're platforming through caves, the other half you're poking around in first-person mode talking to random NPCs who give you cryptic hints. The music slaps, though, and there's something satisfying about finding hidden items in those clunky maze-like sections. Just don't expect it to hold your hand.
Pro tip: Stock up on keys early. You'll need 'em.
