About The Battle Of Olympus
I first played The Battle of Olympus on the Nintendo Entertainment System back in 1988. It was developed and published by Infinity, and it fit right in with the era's action-adventure games that drew inspiration from titles like Zelda II. You guide a hero named Orpheus across a sprawling map of ancient Greece, moving screen by screen through forests, caves, and towns.
You control Orpheus directly, using a sword for close combat and a bow for attacking enemies from a distance. Your main goal is to rescue your beloved Helene, which requires you to venture into dungeons, defeat mythological creatures, and gather special items like the Harp of Apollo and the Sandals of Hermes. The game is methodical; you explore each area thoroughly, often needing specific god-given powers to progress, and the difficulty can be punishing if you rush. Playing it feels like a deliberate, sometimes grueling trek through a world that demands your full attention.
