Oh man, Tetsuwan Atom on NES—this one's a real piece of history. It's the first console game based on Osamu Tezuka's classic manga, though you might know the little guy better as Astro Boy. Konami handled this one, but it never made it outside Japan, which is a shame because it's got that weird, janky charm only early NES games can pull off.
You're basically running and jumping through side-scrolling stages as Atom, blasting robots with your arm cannon. The controls are a little stiff by today's standards, but there's something satisfying about the way enemies explode into little bolts and springs. The music's surprisingly catchy too—that classic 8-bit Konami sound.
It's not the deepest game, but if you're into retro stuff or Tezuka's work, it's a neat little time capsule. Just don't expect a masterpiece.
