About Tetris (unl)
I first played Tetris on the Nintendo Entertainment System, a version released without an official license. The game was originally designed by Alexey Pajitnov, and its simple concept made it a staple on the platform. It arrived during a time when many NES games focused on action or adventure, but this one offered something different: pure, abstract problem solving.
You control a series of geometric shapes, called tetrominoes, as they descend from the top of the screen. Your goal is to rotate and shift these pieces to form solid horizontal lines without any gaps. When you complete a line, it vanishes, and you earn points. The game speeds up gradually, forcing you to make faster decisions. Clearing multiple lines at once with a single piece provides a satisfying rush and a higher score. The feeling of managing a near full screen, then clearing four lines at once to save yourself, is a genuine thrill. It creates a tense, focused state where your mind is entirely on the falling blocks.
