I picked up Tetris Plus for the Game Boy around 1996, a version published by Natsume. It was one of many puzzle games available for the handheld, a familiar concept in a portable format.

You control the falling tetrominoes, rotating and shifting them to create solid lines that vanish. The main goal is to clear lines to progress, but this version adds a few twists. In Puzzle Mode, you must clear blocks to guide a little explorer character down to the exit before the rising lava reaches him. This creates a dual objective: managing the falling pieces while also keeping an eye on the character's safety. The game can get quite tense as the floors fill up and the lava creeps higher, demanding quick decisions. It feels like a race against a clock you set yourself with every piece you place.
