About Terao No Dosukoi Oozumou (japan)
Terao no Dosukoi Oozumou is a Japan only Nintendo Entertainment System release from 1990, developed by Natsume. It arrived late in the NES lifecycle, a time when developers were still finding new ways to use the hardware, and it stands as one of the few sumo wrestling games on the platform.
You control the sumo wrestler Terao, aiming to climb the ranks and become a yokozuna, the highest title. The core gameplay unfolds in a side view ring where you grapple with opponents. Your main actions are pushing, slapping, and executing throws when you get a good grip on your rival's mawashi belt. Between matches, you manage your wrestler's condition by choosing how to spend your time; you can train to increase your power and technique or rest to recover stamina. The difficulty escalates quickly as you face larger, more aggressive opponents who can easily force you out of the ring if you are careless. It feels like a constant, tense shoving match where a single mistake can end a bout.
