Tekkyu Fight! is one of those weird little Game Boy gems that never left Japan, and honestly? It's a shame. You get this side-scrolling brawler where you pick from four characters—each with their own weirdly specific fighting style—and just start wrecking dudes in train-themed stages. Yeah, trains. Like, you'll be punching goons on top of a moving locomotive one minute, then fighting in a cramped passenger car the next.
The sprites are tiny but surprisingly detailed for a Game Boy game, and the controls are simple but satisfying. I went with the boxer guy first, but the wrestler's throws feel way more brutal when you're tossing enemies off the roof. The music's got that classic early '90s chiptune energy too—all screechy and aggressive, like it's trying way harder than it needs to.
It's not deep, but there's something weirdly charming about how committed it is to being a train-based beat 'em up. You'll finish it in an afternoon, but you'll remember the absurdity.
