Man, Turtles in Time on SNES is peak arcade beat 'em up nostalgia. You and three friends can smash Foot Clan goons as Leo, Donnie, Mikey, or Raph—each turtle feels different right away. Donnie’s bo staff reaches halfway across the screen but swings like he’s underwater, while Mikey and Raph just go nuts with quick punches. Leo’s the safe pick if you can’t decide.
The first level throws you right into a neon-lit city, tossing enemies into the screen with that satisfying "YEEEEOW!" sound effect. By level two, you’re literally time-traveling to fight pirates and robot mousers in the future. It’s ridiculous in the best way. The pizza power-ups still make me grin every time.
Honestly, the only downside is that it’s over too fast with four players. But man, those 90s Konami sprites hold up.
