Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2: Battle Nexus on the GBA is basically the follow-up to the 2003 cartoon series—so if you grew up watching that, this one hits different. You pick your turtle (Leo’s my go-to, but Raph’s extra aggressive moves have their moments) and slash through waves of Foot Clan ninjas in side-scrolling beat-em-up chaos.
The levels throw some fun curveballs, like sewer surfing sections where you dodge obstacles, and the boss fights actually make you think instead of just button-mashing. Graphics are solid for a GBA game—the sprites have that classic TMNT look, and the animations when you pull off special moves feel satisfying. Just don’t expect a cakewalk; some of those later levels get brutal.
It’s a solid pick if you’re into old-school action or just miss the vibe of the 2003 series.
